Build · Quotes
“Everyone we've asked has quoted us a year and six figures.”
When every quote comes back the same, it's rarely a conspiracy. It's that everyone is pricing the same unknowns, and unknowns are expensive.
What is actually going on
A year-long estimate usually means the team quoting it intends to work out what you need while building it. That discovery is real work, and someone has to pay for it, so it goes in the price with a margin on top for being wrong.
The second thing inflating it is team shape. A traditional build assumes a project manager, two or three engineers, a designer and a QA, all billing while they wait on each other. Most of that cost is coordination rather than construction.
Neither of those is inevitable. If the flows you need have been built before, they aren't a discovery exercise, and a small senior team with an AI workforce doesn't carry the coordination overhead a six-person squad does.
What we do about it
A scope we can defend, a monthly number, and something live long before a year is up.
-
We tell you which parts are actually unknown
Most of any build is understood territory. Naming the two or three genuinely uncertain pieces is what turns a year-shaped guess into a plan.
-
One monthly number instead of an estimate
Retainers start at $5,000 a month covering design, build, deployment and running it. No hourly billing, so nobody profits from the work taking longer.
-
Something is live early
Not a prototype, a real slice in production. It is the only reliable way to find out whether the rest of the plan is right.
-
You can stop
Cancel anytime. We'd rather earn the next month than lock in the next year, which changes what we're incentivised to do with your time.
Where we have done this
One marketplace went from kickoff to a full rebuild live in about two months, with nothing dropped from scope.

What people ask next.
Why are you cheaper than the quotes we have?
Two senior builders directing an AI workforce do what used to need a six-person team, and we're not pricing in the risk of discovering your requirements as we go. Where something genuinely is a year of work, we say that too.
Is this fixed price or a retainer?
A monthly retainer from $5,000. It covers the build and then the running of it, so there is no second negotiation once you are live.
What if it turns out bigger than you thought?
We say so, in the month it becomes clear, with what changes. Our average client stays five years, which does not survive surprise invoices.
